First Level

The National Circuit (WSOP Circuit)

The WSOP Circuit consists of regional festivals held primarily across the United States and Europe, each built around a Main Event with a $1,500 buy-in (or the local currency equivalent). Every event winner receives a WSOP Ring, the regional counterpart to the iconic gold bracelet. This tier serves as the foundation for recruiting and retaining the global poker community, drawing semi-professional and experienced recreational players.

Second Level

The Global Circuit — three connected majors

The brand's revenue engine and image driver rests on three annual flagship festivals. All three are linked through shared leaderboards, including the Player of the Year race and cross-qualifying structures, which incentivize players to attend multiple editions each year. This creates a recurring and predictable flow of international travel throughout the calendar.

Spring · Prague
WSOP Europe

The European edition, now hosted each April at King's Casino Prague inside the Hilton. Moving from Rozvadov to Prague in 2026 was a watershed moment; entries more than tripled and the 2026 edition became the largest poker event ever staged in Europe.

Summer · Las Vegas
WSOP Las Vegas

The original and most iconic festival, held every May through July at Horseshoe Las Vegas and Paris Las Vegas. It is the global reference point for the sport: 100 bracelet events, broadcast on ESPN and PokerGO, and watched by millions of viewers worldwide.

December · Bahamas
WSOP Paradise

The premium festival launched in 2023, held each December at a luxury Caribbean resort. It explicitly targets a high roller and ultra-premium audience and is anchored by a Super Main Event with a $25,000 buy-in.

Chapter III — Destination Impact

Every festival transforms its host.

Las Vegas
Case 1
Las Vegas

The stabilizer.

In a summer when Vegas RevPAR collapsed 28.7%, the WSOP alone filled Caesars' east-Strip properties for eight consecutive weeks. STR data confirms: without Las Vegas, US hotel metrics would have been flat.

Documented Economic Impact

Beyond prize pools — a multiplied effect.

Beyond prize pools and tournament fees, WSOP festivals generate a multiplied economic effect on the resorts and cities that host them. Available data allow several components of this impact to be documented.

3.1 — Las Vegas
A direct statement from the Caesars CEO

The most explicit public statement on the economic impact of a WSOP festival for its host resort came from Tom Reeg, CEO of Caesars Entertainment, during the Q2 2024 investor earnings call — days before the announcement of the $500 million sale of the WSOP brand.

This statement carries particular strategic weight. It came immediately before a $500 million transaction in which Caesars nonetheless insisted on retaining the right to host the festival at its Las Vegas properties for the next 20 years. That contractual clause can only be explained by the overall economic value the event generates for the resort, well beyond tournament revenue alone.

Quantifying ancillary revenue

Eric Hession, President of Caesars Digital, confirmed during the same call that the WSOP consistently generates between $20 million and $25 million in annual profits for the group, excluding brand licensing revenue.

3.2 — Las Vegas Hotel Market
The WSOP stabilizer effect

The summer of 2025 provided a revealing case study. Data from the LVCVA and STR show a significant deterioration in the broader hotel market during June and July 2025:

  • June 2025: hotel occupancy fell 14.9%, with RevPAR declining 28.7% during the week ending July 5
  • Key factors: international arrivals down 13.2%, temperatures exceeding 50°C, and a lighter convention calendar compared to 2024
  • Macro signal: according to STR, Las Vegas alone was responsible for the decline in US hotel metrics that summer. Without Las Vegas, national RevPAR would have been flat

In this challenging summer context, the WSOP acted as an explicit stabilizer, a role Caesars publicly acknowledged. The festival generates a captive and predictable flow of international players across eight consecutive weeks, with above-average length of stay and significant on-property spending.

Scale of the hotel impact

Of the 246,960 entries recorded in 2025, a significant portion represents non-Las Vegas residents requiring a minimum of 2 to 5 nights of hotel accommodation. The 37,311 players who cashed alone each stayed for at least 4 to 7 days during the series.

3.3 — WSOP Paradise
Atlantis and the Bahamian economy

The WSOP Paradise model differs from Las Vegas in one critical respect: the host resort is the only available infrastructure on site. Atlantis Paradise Island (and Baha Mar from 2026 onwards) captures virtually all player, sponsor and media accommodation within its own facilities.

  • Atlantis Paradise Island (3,100+ rooms): the resort invested $250 million in renovations between 2023 and 2025, a trajectory directly tied to its positioning as an international premium poker destination. Joe Brunini, Chief Gaming and Customer Development Officer at Atlantis, described WSOP Paradise as the event that turns the resort into poker's ultimate winter playground.
  • December timing: the 2025 edition ran from December 4 to 18, traditionally a slower period for a Caribbean resort. The WSOP drives exceptional occupancy and premium room rates during that window.
  • Concentrated economic flow: with 2,891 entries in the $25,000 Super Main Event and a 15-event programme running over 15 days, the resort hosts a clientele with very high spending capacity. Hotel, dining, casino floor and leisure revenue are all captured entirely on-property.
  • GGPoker packages: the operator committed to sending more than 1,000 qualified international players to each edition through all-inclusive packages that include accommodation at the host resort, providing a guaranteed baseline of room-nights.

Bahamas hotel performance data confirm that Atlantis regularly sustains occupancy rates above 90% during peak event periods, at a time when the broader Bahamian market typically runs between 60 and 75%.

3.4 — WSOP Europe 2026
The Prague effect

The relocation of WSOP Europe from Rozvadov to Prague in 2026 offers a striking illustration of a WSOP festival's ability to transform a destination. King's Casino Prague, based inside the Hilton Prague, welcomed 15,779 entries across 13 days in March and April 2026, compared to fewer than 3,000 in previous editions held in Rozvadov.

  • Direct hotel impact: the Hilton Prague and surrounding properties were at full capacity throughout the festival. Prague's strong connectivity from across Europe attracted players who would never have travelled to a border town.
  • Media and social media reach: the festival generated substantial international exposure for Prague as a premium poker destination, with content published from the King's Casino Hilton tables and reaching poker audiences across Europe and Asia.
  • Destination discovery effect: several thousand players from 83 countries experienced Prague for the first time through the WSOP. That kind of ambassador-driven destination awareness cannot be replicated by any conventional marketing campaign at comparable cost.
Value Beyond Revenue

Cash Game & Casino Floor Spillover

The revenue that isn't on the felt.

The presence of thousands of poker players over an extended period generates meaningful ancillary revenue across the rest of the resort's facilities:

  • High-volume cash game activity: players eliminated from tournaments migrate to cash games, which typically generate higher revenue per square metre than tournament poker
  • Cross-play on casino games: academic research (ScienceDirect, 2012) demonstrates that poker tournaments produce a positive and measurable spillover effect on slot volumes and table game activity
  • Average daily visitor spending in Las Vegas reached $848.95 in 2025 (American Gaming Association). A WSOP player staying 5 to 14 days represents a potential of $4,000 to $12,000 in on-property spend, excluding their tournament buy-in

Chapter V — Strategic Summary

Three things nothing else can match.

The WSOP franchise offers a premium casino a documented and unmatched value proposition in the poker market. Three elements set it apart from any alternative:

01
Unrivalled brand strength

55 years of history, over $5.2 billion distributed in prize money and a place in the collective imagination of poker players worldwide.

02
A proven economic model for the host resort

The public statement from the Caesars CEO and the 20-year contractual commitment to host the festival document a total profitability that extends well beyond tournament fees alone.

03
Destination value

Each festival turns its host venue into a global reference point for the poker community, both during and after the event, through media and social exposure that could not be purchased at equivalent cost.

Ras Al Khaimah
Chapter IV — The Destination

Ras Al Khaimah.

Wynn Al Marjan Island — the UAE's first licensed gaming resort.

A blank canvas. A first-mover market. Zero competition. Governmental backing. And, within a five-hour flight radius, hundreds of millions of players never before reached by the WSOP.

Chapter VI

Why organize a World Series of Poker event in Ras Al Khaimah?

Hosting an official World Series of Poker (WSOP) event in Ras Al Khaimah (RAK) represents a unique strategic opportunity for both the WSOP brand and the Emirate. With the opening of the Wynn Al Marjan Island integrated resort, Ras Al Khaimah is poised to become the Middle East's premier gaming and entertainment destination.

A WSOP event would establish RAK as a global poker hub, attract high-value international visitors, generate significant economic impact, and reinforce the Emirate's positioning as a world-class tourism and leisure destination.

6.1
Positioning RAK as the new global gaming destination

The opening of the Wynn Al Marjan Island marks a historic milestone for the United Arab Emirates, as it will be home to the country's first licensed commercial gaming operation. By bringing the WSOP to Ras Al Khaimah, the Emirate would immediately establish itself as:

  • The premier poker destination in the Middle East.
  • A new international stop on the global poker circuit.
  • A flagship destination for luxury gaming tourism.
  • A symbol of the UAE's evolution into a diversified entertainment economy.

The event would become a cornerstone of Ras Al Khaimah's international branding strategy.

6.3
A unique first-mover advantage

Unlike Las Vegas, Europe, or Macau — where multiple casinos compete for major poker events — Ras Al Khaimah offers a completely new market. The WSOP would benefit from:

  • The first official WSOP event in the Middle East.
  • Exclusive regional positioning.
  • No direct competition.
  • Exceptional international media attention.
  • Historic significance for the global poker industry.

A compelling marketing message would be: “The First World Series of Poker in the Middle East.” This “first mover” advantage carries enormous commercial and branding value.

6.3 — Access to New Global Markets

Regions the WSOP has never reached.

Traditionally, WSOP events attract players from North America, Europe and Asia. A Ras Al Khaimah event would significantly expand the audience by attracting players from:

GCC
India
Pakistan
Africa
Central Asia
UAE Expats

Within a five-hour flight radius, Ras Al Khaimah has access to hundreds of millions of potential travelers, making it one of the world's most strategically located poker destinations.

6.8 — Exceptional Global Accessibility

One of the world's best-connected hubs.

The UAE is one of the world's best-connected aviation hubs. Ras Al Khaimah benefits from easy access via nearby international airports, including Dubai, with direct connections to virtually every major market.

Saudi Arabia2h

East Africa5h
Europe5–7h
Southeast Asia6–8h
6.4
Driving high-value tourism

A typical WSOP festival lasts between 10 and 20 days. Most players travel with family members, friends, business partners and sponsors. These visitors contribute significantly to the local economy through spending on:

Luxury hotelsFine diningShoppingGolfSpa and wellnessBeach resortsExcursionsEntertainment

The WSOP therefore becomes much more than a sporting event — it serves as a powerful tourism and economic development platform.

6.5
Significant economic impact

Major WSOP festivals consistently generate:

  • Thousands of hotel room nights
  • Millions of dollars in tournament buy-ins
  • Increased tourism spending
  • Temporary employment opportunities
  • International destination exposure
  • Strong return on investment for host destinations

Beyond direct revenues, the event stimulates the broader hospitality, retail, transportation, and entertainment sectors.

6.6
Worldwide media exposure

The World Series of Poker is the most recognized brand in professional poker. Every WSOP event benefits from:

Global live streamingTelevision coverageInternational mediaSpecialized poker publicationsSocial media engagementInfluencer marketingDigital content creation

For Ras Al Khaimah, hosting the WSOP would provide worldwide visibility that would be extremely costly to achieve through traditional advertising alone.

6.7
Strengthening the launch of Wynn Al Marjan Island

The future Wynn Al Marjan Island aims to become one of the world's premier integrated luxury resorts. Hosting the WSOP during the early years of operation would:

  • Immediately establish the resort's international credibility.
  • Attract elite professional players.
  • Welcome thousands of amateur poker enthusiasts.
  • Position Wynn as the Middle East's poker capital.
  • Generate extensive international publicity from day one.

The tournament would become one of the resort's signature annual events.

6.9 — An Ideal Addition to the Global WSOP Calendar

A slot in the calendar nobody occupies.

A Ras Al Khaimah stop would complement the existing WSOP schedule without competing directly with Las Vegas, Europe, or Asia-Pacific events.

Its mild winter climate makes it particularly attractive during periods when many other poker destinations experience less favorable weather conditions. This creates an opportunity for a flagship international poker festival during an optimal period of the year.

Building an Annual Poker Festival

The vision extends far beyond a single tournament.

A WSOP Ras Al Khaimah festival could include:

  • WSOP Circuit Main Event / High Roller tournaments
  • Ladies Event / Seniors Championship
  • Celebrity Charity Poker Tournament / Corporate Poker Cup
  • International satellite qualifiers / VIP hospitality experiences
  • Business networking events
  • Luxury entertainment and lifestyle experiences

The objective is to create an annual “Poker Week” or “Poker Festival” that becomes one of the region's most anticipated international sporting and entertainment events.

Chapter VII — Why the WSOP Should Choose Ras Al Khaimah

An offer no one
else can make.

Ras Al Khaimah offers a combination of advantages unmatched by any emerging gaming destination:

01
A completely new market

A completely new and untapped poker market.

02
First licensed destination

The prestige of partnering with the UAE's first licensed gaming destination.

03
State support

Strong governmental support for tourism diversification.

04
World-class infrastructure

World-class luxury hospitality infrastructure and exceptional international accessibility.

05
Premium audience

A premium destination capable of attracting both professional players and recreational tourists.

06
Regional definition

Opportunity to establish the WSOP as the definitive poker brand across the Middle East.

Rather than simply adding another stop to its international calendar, the WSOP would have the opportunity to shape an entirely new regional poker ecosystem.

Conclusion

Far more than an international tournament.

A World Series of Poker Ras Al Khaimah event would represent far more than an international poker tournament. It would become a strategic partnership between one of the world's most iconic gaming brands and one of the fastest-growing luxury tourism destinations.

For the WSOP, it offers expansion into a high-potential new market.

For Ras Al Khaimah, it delivers a globally recognized annual event capable of attracting elite players, amateur enthusiasts, international tourists, media attention, and substantial economic impact.

Together, the WSOP and Ras Al Khaimah have the opportunity to create the Middle East's flagship poker festival and establish a new benchmark for international gaming and destination marketing.
